Bio My current research interest is the potential of videogames as an artistic and sociopolitical medium. A strong believer in blending theory and practice, I encourage a hands-on approach in the classroom but it must be coupled with a critical framework. Grateful to have worked with talented and interdisciplinary teams in academia and industry, I've had a blast creating augmented reality games for kids, iPhone games, games that teach foreign languages, art games challenging conventional uses of everyday objects. Based on my dissertation at the School of Literature, Communication and Culture I'm co-authoring a book about avant-garde games with Jay Bolter for MIT Press. I lived abroad for four years in Mexico, India, Taiwan, Israel/Palestine, and Southeast Asia and currently live in Atlanta. |
